Second Chance School

“Second Chance” is an inclusive educational initiative launched by Human Development & Peace Organization (HDPO) aimed at providing a lifeline to dropout girls and boys in Pakistan. The initiative focuses on re-enrolling out-of-school children and youth, enabling them to complete their fundamental education up to the Intermediate level (Grade 12).

Millions of children in Pakistan, particularly girls, drop out of school due to poverty, gender discrimination, early marriage, financial constraints, conflict, and lack of access to education. Second Chance seeks to reconnect these children and youth with education by establishing specialized schools, flexible learning programs, evening classes, and digital learning platforms, ensuring they regain their educational path and secure a brighter future.

Objectives & Goals:

  • Reintegration of Dropouts– Bringing girls and boys back to school through flexible education models.
  • Completion of Fundamental Education– Helping students achieve at least an Intermediate (Grade 12) qualification.
  • Flexible Learning & Accelerated Education– Introducing fast-track learning for those who have missed years of schooling.
  • Girls’ Education & Inclusion– Encouraging dropout girls to return to education through safe, community-based schools.
  • Vocational & Life Skills Training– Equipping students with market-relevant skills for self-sufficiency.
  • Financial & Social Support– Providing scholarships, stipends, and career counseling to sustain education.
  • Community Awareness & Parental EngagementMobilizing parents and communities to prioritize education over early marriages and child labor.
